Steven E. Streight, anti-artist, underground pop star, and 100 hit wonder, sings and designs abstract soundscapes. He utilizes primarily the method of Sprechstimme, (German: “speech-voice”), in his music, which is a cross between speaking and singing, in which the tone quality of speech is heightened and lowered in pitch along melodic contours indicated in the musical notation. Sprechstimme is frequently used in 21st century compositions and avant garde / experimental music.

Guitars, harmonicas, slide whistles, etc. are sometimes included along with synthesizers.

At age 6, I was changing speeds on reel to reel tape recorders & thus was born an electronic musician, Str8 Sounds, on physical synthesizers, digital loops, samples, online instruments, field recordings, slide whistles, harmonicas, etc.

Gave Andy Warhol a tape of my music, NYC 1986.
